Shipping is the last mile delivery of a good from carriers like FedEx, USPS, and UPS. Last mile delivery is how your customer gets their order.
Blackbox partners with all major carriers like FedEx, USPS, and UPS to get your customers orders delivered. We get volume discounts that we pass along to you or your customer depending on how you are configured.
Kickstarter shipping is tricky to navigate, but our experience will help guide you in meeting your backer needs. Carrier rates are sophisticated and comprehensive and change from time to time based on factors like labor, fuel, and seasonality. Since Kickstarting a product means the product is not produced yet there is a real challenge in getting the price your backer pays right. You don’t want to overcharge and end up with no backers, but you don’t want to undercharge and end up unable to pay your bills. Your Kickstarter may take 6 months or more to complete, which means the shipping rates you provide to backers at the start will most definitely be different then when you are actually ready to fulfill.
Ecommerce stores or webstores are a little more straightforward in regards to shipping. We partner with all the major carriers (FedEx, UPS, USPS, Asendia) and have massive discounted rates. We sync these carriers to your webstore. Depending on what your customer is purchasing and what method of shipping they select (overnight, 2 day, ground, express) they get charged the rate from the carrier at checkout. That signals to Blackbox what to do and you get charged what the carrier charges.
